Re: 36v non DCS white rodgers solenoid cross reference question
Unlikely. Cars are 12 volts. You need 36 volts at high amperage, constant duty. Any buggy shops near you that may be open half a day today?

Re: 36v non DCS white rodgers solenoid cross reference question
I don't know how to open yours, but I had to do an emergency repair several years ago for a 4th of July parade. It worked.
Mine wasn't welded, it just overheated and became intermittent. Generally, anything that was assembled can be disassembled. |

You wouldn't happen to be anywhere near Atlanta would you? I have a HD 36 volt solenoid I'm not using.

Re: 36v non DCS white rodgers solenoid cross reference question
If it's already broken, you have nothing to lose.
As to the price you were quoted, check prices on http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Custom_Options.html towards the bottom of the page. These HD solenoids are more robust than a standard 36 volt solenoid. I melted two OEM solenoids before upgrading, with an all stock cart. |

Re: 36v non DCS white rodgers solenoid cross reference question
Once I got stuck way off the pavement with a bad solenoid and I just put both high amperage solenoid cables on the same terminal and drove it home. Now it worked but it was not completely safe as the power was on to the controller all the time until I disconnected the cable. But I got home in a pinch.

Re: 36v non DCS white rodgers solenoid cross reference question
That would certainly work for a 4th of July parade. Just remember to put the FNR in N anytime you aren't driving. It's your only "kill switch" on the heavy current circuit.
