Help with torque
I have a 2004 club car ds gas and I am looking to use this in the pits as a push car in the pits. It will be used to push a circle track car on pavement and should I change out the spring in driven clutch or something else. The cart has 23" tires and runs great with 6" lift kit, looking for a more torque without breaking the bank. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with torque
Smaller diameter tires == more torque.

Re: Help with torque
Send it to get the driven clutch machined. It makes a world of difference, especially when paired with the clutch spring.

Re: Help with torque
I would like to send it to be done by one of the sponsors on here, but being from the East coast of Canada, here in Newfoundland, the cost would be crazy for shipping. I do have access to a full machine shop to use as I wish, but I never seen anyone post pictures or even say what has to be machined on the clutches for a 2004 club car ds. I would do it myself if you can direct me to info on what to machine on these clutches. Thanks for the help guy's.

Re: Help with torque
There is a post somewhere on here of someone asking for help machining their own clutch. I dont believe it was too long ago. You could call Tom at Carts Parts Plus, He might be willing to help you since you are so far out.

Re: Help with torque
The object is to get the two halves of the clutch to sit closer together. This makes the belt ride higher on the clutch. Chuck the movable side in a lathe and face mill some off. check it with a new belt. You want about an 1/8" of the belt sticking out of the halves together. I would use a torque spring with the machining.
