Default 89 club car stops after 4 or 5 holes

Cart stutters and stops after about 5 holes when wet outside. Engine turns over and starter gen belt spins. Belt is worn so I replaced it today. Wait about 5 minutes and drive belt will engage and operate. Do you think this is a belt issue or is it a ignition coil issue. I am not mechanically inclined as you can see.

Thanks.

well if belt is spinning and cart is not moving, i would make sure belt is tightened properly

if it is then maybe clutch springs are bod ?

What engine is in it?
Take a spark plug with you.
Next time it acts up, pull the spark plug wire off, and stick the spare plug in the wire, set it on the engine so you can see the gap well and push the pedal so it starts cranking. See if you have consistent blue spark. If it's yellowish, or it comes and goes, there is possibly a coil or igniter problem.

Also could be your carburetor flooding. If you have dirt in the needle and seat, the float bowl could be filling up and stalling you out. But you're saying it only does this when wet?

The "wet" part is throwing me off too.

Happened again last evening. Not wet out at all. This has happened that last 4 times out golfing for my son. Hole 5: Cart was operating properly then sputtered and stopped. He tried starting and start gen belt was turning but would not engage the drive belt. after a few minutes the battery was dead.

I charged the battery overnight and will do a load test on it today. I assume that the battery is not the main issue.

If it has a proper spark then I would also assume that it is likely a fuel restriction issue. The cart is very dusty due to crushed limestone cart paths. Could that be an issue.

According to my son, the cart has always operated perfectly until it sputters and dies after 4 or 5 holes.

????

??? Why would it consistently stop working after 4 or 5 holes. I did not check the oil level. Is there a kill switch if oil level is a little low??

I had a 1996 cart do the same thing. I replace the fuel hose between the pump and tank.
It was not leaking fuel but sucking air.
