2014 charger problem
So while we have been building a house, our cart has just sat outside at my mother and father in laws house. Charger and cart worked perfect until this move to their side yard. Charger has been sitting in the garage out of the weather. We refilled the batteries today with distilled water and tried to plug in the charger to charge the batteries. My assumption is after this time sitting (8 months) the batteries will be toast which they are the original batteries to the cart, but I’m not sure what is going on with the charger. I get the power light on but no light to show charging. Any ideas guys? Anything I can do to get a temp charge on them so I can get it out of the side yard and onto a trailer to get it to the new garage? I sure hate to have to buy a charger and batteries at the same time.
Thanks in advance for the help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 2014 charger problem
What batteries are in it? What is the current voltage of the whole pack right now? I'm betting the charger is fine, but the batteries are too low for the charger to recognize. Also, adding water to discharged batteries all but guarantees an acid mess in your new garage. (Batteries levels are to only be set to their proper lever when at full charge, and only add fluid to low batteries just enough to cover any exposed plates)

2014 charger problem
Quote:
Battery voltages were all In the .6-1 range before hooking up the charger. Water was added to just above the exposed plates. And they are the original Trojan batteries. Can I run a battery charger on the pack to get them to a chargeable state? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: 2014 charger problem
Yes, you can charge each battery individually to bring them up. Dont need to disconnect any cables either, just do each one individually. And, yes, too low voltage is totally why the charger wont come on.
