Post First Drive.

It was all fun until the RPM limiter kicked in. So its like going going boom the RPM limiter hit in and its like the brakes are hit. I hate that, is this how its always going to be?

Cause if so that the sucks. My cousin's G1 is alot faster without the rpm limiter that yanks you back when it kicks in. But, overall the ride quality is really bumpy, thats cause i had no seats. haa. Its cool though, I'm getting the front cowl and seats for $ 45.00. Seats need some work.

I'm going to sell this as soon as its done. It was fun getting it all together but that RPM that kicked in really got me mad. Im like what!? it couldn't be like the Yamaha G1 where you don't feel it? oh well. Is this how your Club Car is?

Do... what you have to do...

To me...
It doesn't matter what brand cart you have, or get...
it's the patience and heart you put into it!

I see that you have the heart...
but time (and money) makes a great cart!

Just ask anybody!

Personally... I think that your Club Car would be an excellent cart...
IF you can find the patience!

EzGo Electric, you're going to have to stop jumping the gun on everything.

Read the sticky threads in this forum and they will tell you how to get rid of the RPM limiter.

If I remember correctly, Yamaha G1 carts do not have a rev limiter.

If you think you've got "issues" now, go get that G1 and then tell us alllll about issues.

Have you considered anger management classes? If a grounding device cutting fire at 3800 RPM got you that mad, those classes may not be a bad idea.

I have a gut feeling that you won't read those stickies, so here you go:

If so, do not do any of the steps aforementioned EXCEPT removing the RPM limiter ground strap! Remove your access panel on the rear body. On the governor arm atop the transaxle, there is a clamping device that holds the arm tight to the shaft coming out of the transaxle. Loosen the 11mm nut on that about 3 turns. Spray a SMALL AMOUNT of WD-40 directly around the shaft and ensure the arm moves freely. Now you have successfully, completely bypassed your governor. Now, BUY A TACHOMETER!!!

No man, I didn't get angry but I didn't think its that bad to yank the crap out of you when it kicks in. Its nice, but see Yamaha does 27MPH without the gov kicking in like the CC, and this does maybe half that with it kicking in, so I have to remove the gov and risk blowing my motor?

Well, I might as well just get some High Speed Gears and Machine my Clutch.

NOTHING from BU works. No joke, it's all junk IMO, It is dangerous Taiwan junk. Do not buy ANYTHING from BU.

The FE290 is limited to about 2900 RPMs by the governor. The RPM limiter shuts it down at 3800. The engine will turn 4800 comfortably. In other words, I highly doubt you're going to blow it up.

Gawd....

The way I see it... you'll NEVER be happy!

You bought the cart for $200.00...
you've gotten parts just to get it RUNNING! (would you say $200/300.00?)
and, now your talking $1300.00 of stuff to make it go faster...
and it's been... what... a month since you've gotten your cart???

If you would pay attention... No No has some GREAT ideas of getting that cart GOING... FAST!!!
(I know... he's helped me getting my cart going 28mph!... with just a Zip Tie!)

The BU's traction control consists of 6 springs, 2 plates, and some fibre washers... worth about $100.00
BU wants @ $450.00 (bad investment... rated 5 out of a 10!)
The high speed gears... good... but you'll lose torque!
Machined clutch(es) and spring... good... not nessesary for now,
but, you should ONLY get them done by CPP!

You have to stop thinking so far ahead!
There are SO MANY things that you can do with what you have right now!

My mother once told me... "Patience is a Virtue"
and I'm telling you that NOW!

Best of luck to ya'!
