Default Re: yamaha clutch

I crossed my fingers, but the one I bought was in great shape aside from the holes in the sheave. 90 for all the parts was a deal I guess. I was able to pop the center seals out with a screwdriver easily, pressed the bushings out with a socket. One had a little spot in it when assembled, I had to file it for a few seconds and it fit perfect no wobble at all. It has to move freely on there. I also kept the leftovers lol. Maybe one of these days I can get my clone in I should put bushings in my clutch then.

That is the issue; you start putting much money into it and you might as well shell out more for the aftermarket. I found polaris clutches for 250 but they are open not good for dusty conditions. I even found fairly cheap yami drive clutches on epay, needs an adapter I guess, but I don't know how they work. If you trail ride having an aftermarket clutch you can adjust would be worth some extra cost of course. I'd like to have one for my future clone, though the clone works very nicely with the stock clutch it has lots of torque. But you know, pulling the front would be so cool and may be possible with the clone not sure. I can burn a donut from a stop in a hard dirt/gravel drive. I did powerbrake it and took off spinning, should get a better idea when I put the brakes on that cart they are pretty weak and will not really hold the engine.
