G1 Gear Change help
Anyone know how hard it is to change gears on a G1? i have high speed gears to put in it but was wondering if anyone had any info on how to do this.

I would pressure wash or at least degrease the entire trans (and the cart) before you start. I did a CC and it was not hard really. That one I took the entire rear out and stood it up on one axle with the case cover on top. Took that axle off and the cover, swapped gears and that one some bearings were bad due to running it dry. Put it back together it was good as new and hit 28mph gps on the rev limit for an otherwise stock cart. It was an older CC with the flathead they don't rev like a G1 not even close. You do have to tip it up and remove the old lube at some point doing it that way.
I did read the G9 manual one day it said to pull the axles and take the gearbox out iirc. The CC just has shackles on the springs they come off pretty easily. G1 is very similar, you can get the manual here someplace I think. |
