Default oil injection gear case

Does the gearcase on my 82 G1 use any lube? I see that my oil tank somehow has a hose going to the transmission? Thanks, Artie

The gear case takes 800cc of gear oil, the owners manual says sae 90, but 80w90 or 75w90 gear oil will do just fine. The straight 90 not as common as the other stuff. The hose you are referring to is for ventilation. Go to this link, you can download the owners manual and parts catalog for your cart.

Just out of curiosity; Why is the oil reservoir tank vented through the rear end. Maybe so overflows won't run out on the ground??? Or maybe pulling the fumes out of both when the oil level drops. Just pondering.

I believe it is just so that no oil drips onto the ground.
