g1 coil
does anybody know if i can use a regular universal coil on my 83 g1 2 stroke cart or do i have to buy the coil made for it

Not sure what you mean by a "universal" coil. I am using an ignition coil from a snowmobile on one of my buggies, and it works fine.

i have a universal coil off a friends truck its a simple 2 wire off a 4cyl

Just be aware of the voltages you are putting into the automotive coil, they are generally run at 9v, not sure what the g1 voltage is at the coil. The coil will overheat if it is run at a higher voltage.
