Re: Solenoid Replacement
It sounds like you might have a bad micro switch.
It might be the motor kill micro in the little black box at the end of the accelerator cable. Best if you could check a diagram to see where it's located, unless somebody chimes in who knows for sure. |

Re: Solenoid Replacement
Could be a defective solenoid too.Did you use a replacement unit,or was it from an auto-parts store?If you use an automotive-replacement,you need to get a Continuous-Duty Solenoid,either for a Snow-Plow,or a Lift-Gate/Hydraulic-Dump.Starter Solenoids are meant for a quick use,not non-stop like carts run,They fry quickly!Hope this helps.

Re: Solenoid Replacement
I work for a Fisher Plow Dealer,So I use the Fisher Solenoids,Work great, and they are one of the most common solenoids used by most aftermarkets for dumps,lift-gates,etc..Its a round,Tower-Style made by Trombetta.Mine has been in there for 2 hard years, and still going strong,The first one was in there 2-years and it was a used take-out from a plow-swap(no idea how old it was).

Re: Solenoid Replacement
here is the one i just put in it.....EZGO Golf Cart part 14-v solenoid for gas vehicles, oem white rodgers
This is the one i put in it before the one above...... 12v solenoid for you're 1979 and up E-Z-GO gas golf cart. Both are doing the same thing. It will start but not shut off. I can tap on the solenoid with a screw driver and it shuts it down. Thats all I got. Dont know what else to do. |

Re: Solenoid Replacement
If you tap the Solenoid and it drops out, replace the solenoid, its' defective(the coil is binding-up internally).
