Yamaha G1 backfire pushing out Clutchside Crankshaft Oil Seal
The piston on our G1 (J24-1983) broke so we did an engine top end overhaul kit & replaced both the Clutch side and Fan side Crankshaft Oil Seals.
The cart will start and goes about 50 yards then backfires and pops out the Clutch side seal. We've cleaned the carb, cleaned stater, checked the ignition timing, set the timing, spark test (blue)... Any idea what may be causing the backfire/seal to pop out? Thanks! |

Re: Yamaha G1 backfire pushing out Clutchside Crankshaft Oil Seal
It sounds like you are getting a lean backfire through the carb that is igniting the mixture in the crank case. rich en up your high speed jet or run with the choke partially on and see if it still backfires.
