Jakes Wheelbase Extension Kit
Anyone familiar with this?
http://www.jakesliftkits.com/product.asp?sku=7260 I have a 8 passenger CC Villager and added new wheels and tires. I have some rubbing issues on front during turns/uneven ground. I am looking at either adding air shocks (ala HD Electra Glide) or this? Thanks in Advance |

Re: Jakes Wheelbase Extension Kit
i have another one from a diff manufacturer. if your rubbing toward the rockers it will help. if your suspension is compressing it will do nothing for ya.
if that is the case, try a new front spring. also it extends the wheelbase, so your huge turning radius just got a lil bit bigger:( |

Rubbing the fenders, not bad, just annoying.

Re: Jakes Wheelbase Extension Kit
i am guessing you need a new front spring. is yours standard or hd? the hd have multi leaves. a new standard might even be enough. although an 8 passenger is a LOT of weight on a regular spring.
my regular ds rubbed the fenders with 20.5 inch tires under a lot of wheel compression on one side. such as hitting a speed bump at an angle. |

I'm running 18" tires, just wider than stock. Has a 3 leaf spring, cart is a 2005 and was used, but not abused.

Re: Jakes Wheelbase Extension Kit
Finally got around to installing the kit.
Problem solved, during the process I found I have some tie rod ends that need replacing. Another project for another day. |

Re: Jakes Wheelbase Extension Kit
Does this kit work with any lift kit? I have no clue what manufacture my lift is and would like to install this to solve my fender running.
