Good to here you got it up and going again, sorry I couldn't have helped (still pretty new at this stuff myself).

What did you finally determine it was? Might help somebody else with a similar problem and I always like to learn.

33 yrs of equipment [industrial] service and trouble shooting, most unexplainable, problems are usually simple stupid basic things we over look ,it's hard to get a lot of people to do,but, after ,your first unsecessful attempt ,stop ,don't start taking things apart ,don't do anything yet! take a break ,coffee and a cig. helps me ,basicly talk to your self ,make a mental list ,anything that could cause this problem ,a complete list ,fuel ,mech, electrical ,you have probably gone over most already ,but test again ,this time really ,really look .In this case wires were a bit of a rats nest ,the rebuilder had added staycon [crimp connectors ] to wires, they were dirty and difficult to really see [well] ,rechased wires with super bright led mini lite , starter main lead was too short and broke off inside the eye connector ,remember I said starting had got slower ,strands were breaking off inside till finally they all went ,but stayed hiden in the staycon hidden from view .long story short added
3 extra inches ,now has slack but out of any snag harm .walaa ,resisted the temptation to start fixing problems tha did not exist ,causing confusion in finding the real simple cure! starts quick now and all is fine ,and no further modifications needed {the old ,IF IT AIN"T BROKE DON"T FIX IT, APPLIED AGAIN !
I my younger years ,my zeal ,broke more things than it fixed ,some ,permently !

still can not locate any ID numbers on the cart ,I guess I have to remove the rear bumper and hitch ,sketch shows could be on the end of the frame .Carl
