Question, why are you trying to remove the axle?

OK, I am used to the Ezgo's you can just take them off without taking the axle off.

Put the hammer down, step away from the golf cart.

The axle has a snap ring inside the axle tube which retains the axle. You will need a good size pair of 90 degree snap ring pliers. You can see the ring through the hole in the axle flange but, removal is done from the side. When re assembling make damm sure the snap ring snaps into the groove or you may loose your wheel and axle while driving which can result in serious injury! Hope this helps.

Put the drum on backwards. Just get the nuts WELL started leaving the drum loose. Now hold the drum with both hands and slide it out against the lug nuts. This is your slide hammer.
