1995 Club Car DS take off speed
I'd like to get some feedback on how I could improve the take off speed of my cart and possible top end too. Recently my cart has lost a good bit of take off speed. I've serviced it (oil change, all filters replaced, and carb cleaned). The cart has always had a typical top end speed but always had a great throttle response for taking off from a dead stop. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Kevin |

Re: 1995 Club Car DS take off speed
How old is your drive belt? If it's old and worn, it could affect your take-off performance. If your belt is new and you're still having issues, check the sheaves of your clutches, after many years the sheaves can actually get routed from wear, which could have a similar effect. A new clutch would be recommended if that's the case. As far as top speed, have you zip-tied the governor spring at all?

Thanks for the info.
I will check the drive belt today. I've considered the governor but haven't looked into it enough. |
