Default Rear shock upgrade for lifted 1991 DS

So I just installed the new 6" lift kit and there were some cheap dual extensions for the rear shocks. Well, I needed new shocks anyways and was not about to spend $60 plus for dinky replacement OEM shocks. Here is my solution, Monroe shocks part #59558, press out center metal sleeve, drill out rubber bushing still it slips over the stud on the bottom....top part is easy, just like the original mounts.

That monroe 59588 shock is valved for Ford F150 and F250 trucks. Since your cart weighs a good deal less then a F250 you will make an already firm ride much firmer when using a car or truck shock.

Golf carts come with dampers, not shock absorbers. Although they look very similar, they operate differently.

Would that shock (napa 94013) also fit on a 92 DS? thanks

Did you have to modify them?

no, they bolted right up. the only mod is that I leveled the engine cradle so the shocks would not have a pre-load. you can check out my photo album
