g14 steering shaft
hey guys new here a buddy asked me to look at his cart after someone else had replaced the steering box for him. the problem is the shaft feels loose (like the splines on the bottom are stripped). looks like the column, shaft and box are one piece? do i need to take the box back out and take it apart or what? BTW not worked on many carts. thanks brian

Re: g14 steering shaft
You can go to the yamaha golf cart website and see a "parts breakdown" of everything thats in there. There is a phillips head screw on top of steering box with a locknut to adjust "play". Make small adjustments, then test drive. Tighten it until you get stiff steering at certain spots, then back it up, until steering is easy at any wheel position. Its a real touchy adjustment, easy to make it too tight.
