Default My new Cart 2003 272

Hello all. Im new to this forum. I just pick up a 2003 CarryAll 272 with beverage attachment. Plan is to starting selling snacks, drink, and candy at events and maybe get onto a couple golf course and sell there. I got the cart off ebay and had it Uship to me in Ga. The cart is over all in great shape need some cleaning. However i have a question...I play golf so Im familiar how they work but this one does not go when then gas pedal is press. I have to turn the key as if its a regular vehicle to start the engine. Is this how this model work? And in order to keep it running i have to keep my foot on the gas. Cuz if i release it the cart dies. Is it something im missing or something i need to do to keep it running?

It should stay running when you let your foot off the go pedal. Someone probably backed off the idle adjustment screw on the carb. It was probably idling too fast and thus would grind gears when trying to shift from F-R.

When I over filled my oil it smoked a lot. Checks make sure you have the right amount of oil in it.

Thanks for the info and i think thats the problem . Because it smokes off and on mainly when i go over bumpy grass or turn corners. I assuming the oil is sloshed around and its picked up.
Yes i got the cover for it and I detailed it as well I buffed the glass with Meguiars headlight restorer from AdvanceAuto and they came out great. I used a brass wire wheel attached to my drill to get rid of the golf logo stuff on the side. In the process of getting some logo sticke made out for the side.

Ok, I'm a dumb a... I missed it. Forest for the trees..

C, turned out well. As for the oil, I would try just loosening the oil filter to drain out some of the excess. I usually run mine at like 3/4 full.
