gas club car
hello , i am having trouble with my gas club car sputtering and the exhaust pipe turning red in the bend where it bolts to the engine i cleaned the carb took the muffler loose and it is still doing the same thing i can put my finger half over the end of the carb and it smooths out and runs fine any help would be appreciated Thanks

You're not getting enough fuel. When you put your finger over the end of the carb you're blocking the air and causing the carb to instead suck more fuel to make up for it, hence it running better. You probably need to adjust your air/fuel mixture screw, or there's something else choking off your fuel supply like a partially clogged filter. What year is the cart?

IF... it's a 1992+ CC with a Kawasaki FE290 engine, (OHV on the valve cover)
It WILL run like that with an open carb! The intake tube, and air filter box (with filter) should all be connected to the carb and... air leak free! The CC/Kawi FE OHV engines are incredibility finicky about fuel/air mixture, and won't run right with the intake tube disconnected from the carb! |
