Crankcase halves sealer
Putting motor back together and have varying opinions on whether to use gasket sealer on the crankcase. Do you or don’t you, why or why not and if you do what type? Thanks for all you help ahead of time

Re: Crankcase halves sealer
Definitely use a gasket, and I usually smear a very thin layer of clear silicone on the gasket before installing. Use a new gasket, if you reuse a old torn gasket, it will leak no matter how much silicone you put.

Re: Crankcase halves sealer
Ok thanks, I wasn’t very clear. I have a new gasket wanted to do it right.
