Default Hour meter not counting

I was given an 01 CC Turf2 a month or so ago. Have noticed the fuel level on gauge bounces around and sometimes the whole thing is dimly lit. It's usually has one darker bar close to the correct level. This is not as a big deal to me, but the hour meter no longer counts. Never has since I have had it. Is this the gauss is faulty or is there something to check wireing wise or something on motor bad not telling it to count?

You "could" check to see if all of the connections on the tight,
But, I'll give it a 90% chance that the gauge is bad,
all it is, is a timer that runs off of 12 volts when the key is on.

Well that sucks. I am not sure how long it hasn't been counting since I was just given this cart but I'd like to have a cumulative total on engine. Can you set one to a number or I have to start fresh?

I'm 95% sure you'll have to start fresh...
You could wait to install a new gauge, when you rebuild/replace the engine!

Just a thought!

That's a possibility. This one boys use a good bit of oil. It's worn out.

Stopped counting at 1670
