Default Ignition Switch Retaining nut size/replacement

When I replaced the dash assembly, I found the ignition switch retaining nut was missing. Really do not want to replace the entire switch just for the nut.

I tried electrical box connector nut and a plumbing nut, found very close size but threads are too corse. If I had to guess, I would say it is a 3/4" fine thread, but could also be metric or something all together different

Any sources, suggestions, or workarounds?

My parts list in my manual for a 92 CC DS does not list the retaining nut size. Just lists switch key.

Here is a link to a sticky thread where you can get a manual:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...rs-manual.html

Maybe manuals other than a 92 DS will give the size for the retaining nut

If not I'm sure someone will be along before too long that might be able to tell you the size you need...

If you have a tap/die kit, they come with a gauge to determine thread pitch. Then just have to measure size. Being that it is a club car, I would have to guess it's probably SAE and not metric, everything else seems to be.

Maybe take the switch into ace or fastenal and try hardware until you find a nut that fits?

My tractor supply has a pretty decent selection as well.

Hoping to avoid removing switch as I have installed an aftermarket dash system and I do not think I can remove the switch wires without having to take the dash back off, but that may not be avoidable.

Will check Tractor supply.

Glad to know it worked for you. I also saw it at several of the larger online golf cart places like DIY, Buggies unlimited, east coast, etc.
