Default charging batteries

i have a 2009 YDRE, the charger i have is one that has a timer dial on the front. how long should i set it for to charge my batteries with out over charging them.it is a lestertroics charger.

That must be a very very old ezgo charger or something, although I didn’t know those came in 48V. I would recommend getting an appropriate charger for a cart like that. An automatic one that is.

I have only seen "timer" chargers in 36v, and 36v won't charge any 2009 Yamaha. I think you have the wrong charger that won't do you any good.

it is a 48 volt charger. that is why i got it. i was just wondering if any one could give an idea of how long it should be on charge for

Until your battery pack voltage reaches a certain amount. I’d say no more than about 61v.

Ahh an oldie but goodie ! made around 1993 (?) I would probably start at 5 hours on a discharged battery, since this charger puts out 25 amps vs. About 17 amps for most others.
