Default Newbie here. Intro & Yami G2 question

Howdy! Newbie here to the forum so be gentle. LOL

Well after years of jetski's, I'm looking to try my hand at a custom cart for around our lake property up north. Being new to this, I'm hoping to start with a cheaper cart and just go nuts from there as the budget allows (read: wife allows).

I found two G2's that aren't running for whatever reason, and are in need of some serious TLC it looks like (paint, seats recovered, obviously engine work), but they seem intact. Was thinking of buying them, and making one out of them for sure, but possibly sell the second either running, or in parts to help pay for the first. Heck...maybe chop them and make a stretch. Seems like G2's are old and not worth as much. They want $800 for the pair and they aren't selling. What do you think the offer should be?

Welcome to BGW!!

G2's are good carts. Cart values vary from state to state. It really depends on condition but I guess offer them 700 or even 600.

That makes sense I guess. This is in Michigan. They are rough, but considering that I'm going to paint, lift, recover seats, and all...does it really matter so long as they're solid.

What's a popular "big block" swap that's easy for G2's. Use mower engines? Seems to be tons of those around. 20hp or better...

Again...I'm a newbie. Been reading here alot, but you have to start somewhere I guess.

OK siting outside, weeds growing around them. They are worth nothing to the owners, show up with help and two trucks/trailers to load them and start at $300, you never know.

You really should try and a find something with a straight, horizontal shaft for a GC. Also an electric start, and with an alternator makes the conversion the easiest.... It is still a major undertaking...

It's not a conversion. They're gas G2's. They have a new igniter for one. Never got around to installing it I guess.
