Default G8 - issues

Hey Guys Newbie here and to the cart world. I have been tasked for taking care of a cart for an Older golfing buddy. He has an issue right now. After a 18 hole round the cart starts to hesitate on acceleration and starts to backfire. Pull the plug and it is black with dry carbon. Switch out the plug and off it goes again for another round/round nd a half then back to fouled plug.

Another thing i noticed when the cart is running "good" on peddle depression cart accelerates to a fair pace but then settles back to just over a brisk walking speed. Much slower then other carts on the course.

So far I have:

Checked Carb setup
Removed and cleaned Carb
Removed / Cleaned Pre filter / Reinstalled making sure air box is sealed tight
Drained the fuel tank to insure clean "good" gas

Cart issue still reamins..... Any suggestions?

Check and adjust valves. Check compression.

This "settling back" is the governor kicking in. It's on the transaxle and can be adjusted for more speed. A good speed for this cart "unloaded" would be 19 mph. A slow speed would be 12 mph. Most carts on golf courses are set up around 12 mph to keep the drunk golfers from wiping out

One thing, even in tip top shape that cart will not have as much power and acceleration as a newer cart, just keep that in mind.
