Explaination of exhaust butterfly on G1??
Can someone exlpain the purpose of the butterfly in the exhaust manifold of a Yamaha G1 two stroke. I have been told to remove it for better porformance. Mine has broken and worn linkage. I need to know if I should repair it or just remove it.
Thanks, in advance. |

Re: Explaination of exhaust butterfly on G1??
just guessing i'dd say it was some kind of engine brake, so when you shut the throttle it would coast down slower, or when two strokes are shut off and spin down they are still sucking raw fuel into the combustion chamber, so when you restart your trying to restart a flooded motor, the butterfly would stop the flow letting less into the chamber,
