Default 97 clubcar

plug in cart and sometimes charger comes on but dose not seem to stay on very long and light comes on.

97 with the older OBC in it will cause problems and the best thing you can do is update to the new one for that car. Look on your OBC...see if it has a big bump on it....if so it has not been updated.

You could do a few of things first though...
  • Check to make sure all of the battery cables are clean and tight.
  • Check to make sure all of the battery water levels are up, just above the plates.
  • Then reset your OBC

Is this after winter storage? Clean both plugs male on charger by wipping each clean, maybe some steel wool (after unplugging charger), clean female ends on cart, small round wire brush works well. Also check all battery conections are clean, and tight.
