Default 1996 Club Car Starting Problems

Recently I've started having trouble getting my 1996 GAs powered CC to start. If I press down harder on the gas pedal it wont start but if I very gently press down on the gas pedal it will sometimes start to fire and the run, but only when you first start to press the pedal. If after the 1st quarter inch it does not start it won't start at all. Occasionally even trying to baby the gas pedal it won't start at all. Any thoughts, I have cleaned the micro switches located inside the black box, but doesn't seem to help. I did buy a solenoid as someone thought that might be it but I have not put it on yet.

Welcome.....

Make sure the air filter (in the box) is secure....you don't want any air leaks....remove the filter cover and make sure the filter is "seated" all the way around.....

Welcome to the forum kooi........................

Is the starter turning and turning the engine when it doesnt start?

If the starter/generator motor is turning when it wont start, no need to replace the solenoid.

Thanks for the help I checked the filter its seems tight to me and no the starter is not ingaging at all. When you press down on the pedal there is nothing. I checked the battery and it checked out okay. I will try the solenoid.
