Lots of guys have built their own lifts. Some have worked great and some not so great There are plenty of inexpensive quality lift kits available for your cart from site sponsors like Jake's.
Mostly what I see are homemade body lifts which do not lift the axles..... |

Re: has anyone built there own lift
You can not do a body lift on the front of a CC. I have built them and failed. The steering geometry goes to hell...... The big boys came up with a "Z" lift. They basically cut the frame and Z bracket it down 3 inches; this is the cheapest thing you can do and flip the rear spring purchases from the bottom to the top of the axle. You can run 20-22s by doing this..... But you gotta cut and weld those purchases..... Hope this helps or inspires someone else who can I suggest a Jakes spindle lift kit 4 or 6 inch for jus messin around

Re: has anyone built there own lift
You're better off buying one that has been properly engineered

i think imma do the axle flip and maybe a extra leaf in the back and then fab up my own drop spindles for the front and drop the shock mounts or put bigger/ better shocks in with
