Default REd Dash light on 2000 XG0041- pioneer utility

Hello, yesterday I bought a CLub Car pioneer gas engine
there was no owners manual and there is not one online at CC, I called a dealer and they will get back to me in a couple days with some information and price on new dump bed lift ram if they can find it

anyhow, there is a red rectangle light on the dash which does not say what this light is.

It does come on sometimes while driving, we have only drove it a little , I can only assume this is a the oil pressure light? engine sounds fine, oil level is fine

I would also like to know what this engine is in this thing, the model 900 am I correct to assume this is a 900cc single engine?

this had been sittng a while and had bad fuel in it, so we got that out took the carb apart soaked it in carb cleaner tank, put her back on and she does run better!

sure wish it was easier to find some information on it im a 52 yr old kid and have a new toy <grin>

thank you -
Tom

Welcome to BGW Tom!

The red light on the dash is a "low oil" warning light, and is just operated float switch in the crankcase,
There are only a few reasons why the light will turn on,
1) Low oil
2) Old, or wrong viscosity oil
3) Higher engine RPM's then set from the factory
4) Higher RPM's in combination with a lift kit

The first thing I would do is change the oil and filter! (SAE 30 or 10W-30 Conventional, or Synthetic, and a #4967 filter)

As for your engine, it could be an FE290 (8.5hp), or an FE350 (11.5hp)
there should be a bar code tag on the fan shroud that will tell you!

As for an owners manual, you can use a 2000 DS manual on the CC website for most of your questions about your Pioneer!

if it is low it must be a very sensitive switch, I'll call my local parts house and see if I can get a filter for it, I know we have a stocking wix dealer here, (ahh that number does not cross over to a good wix number:(
but we definitely no CC places anywhere near that will answer the phone

well the oil change did not do the trick, as soon as I drove it light came on,
so let me clarify this, that light is not a low pressure light, it is only a low level light? if so this is definitely not low on oil

I saw your other thread!

The light is for Low level... Not pressure!
