HELP!!! 2014 Club Car Precident EFI won't shut off

new member here hoping to get some help!


we have a 2014 Club Car Precident EFI and it won't stop idling. I had to disconnect the ground cable to get it to stop. When I touched the cable back to the battery it arc'd hard and started running again (in neutral) and will not stop.

I know the old ds carts would do this if the rpm limiter failed or if there was heavy carbon buildup but I am not familiar with these new efi carts yet - there doesn't even appear to be a fuel cut off.

Is there a limiter module on these efi carts and if so where?

Sounds like the solenoid is welded shut or the switches feeding power to it are not working correctly.

A 2014 should still be under a 2 year personal warranty!
I'd suggest talking to your local CC dealer before messing with anything!

If it's anything like my 2000 -- Try pulling up on the gas pedal towards you. If that kills the engine, then the microswitch in the kill circuit in the electrical box in the engine compartment is not being activated or a connection is loose or dirty. You can lube the pedal linkage to loosen it up or play with the switch.

Precedents don't have an Electrical Components Box like our DS's have!
They use a "GCOR" to replace a lot of the mechanical stuff from the ECB!

gcor has micro switches in it.
had a cart that would not crank.
I pulled it apart and repaired it and epoxied back together.

you nailed it - solenoid was stuck!
