Default Sputtering after long ride

Went for extended ride in 2002 ds . Almost home( thankfully) and cart started sputtering and acting like going out gas( but tank half full) never came to complete stop, but was able to limp around corner and get home.

Cart has new air, fuel, oil filters. Does this sound like maybe carb or fuel pump failure?

First thing I would check is trash in carb bowl...If cart does this in neutral try spraying carb cleaner through carb and see if it clears up, also check for trash in bottom of fuel tank...

I'm a little lost on carbs. How do you access this?

This is not the conclusion I would come to. Ignition coils in my experience either work or they don't. He said his cart didn't completely die out, only sputtered and slowed down, still moving under its own power.

One quick thing you can do that requires no tools whatsoever is clean the brass filter on the fuel pump. If it get's clogged with dirt and dust, it will affect your fuel delivery, quite possibly in the way you described with the sputtering. Get some brake cleaner on it.

I'll give that a try. It is correct that my cart limped home in its own power . Just kind surges then hesitated.

Ive replaced too many to count and they will fail when hot and can cause this type of issue. I have seen many fail in the way describe, both on club cars and yamahas
