2004 Club Car DS Possible Purchase
I am looking to find a good base cart to do some customizing too. I am planning on paint (or new body), wheels, lift, dash, radio, etc. all spread out over a couple months of work this winter.
That being said, I have found a 2004 Club Car DS gas, in right off the course condition. The gentleman is asking $1600 for the cart, does this sound reasonable and would this make a good starter platform in your opinion. Looking for all input good/bad/indifferent..... Thanks! |

2004 Club Car DS Possible Purchase
Club Car DS's are the best. Price sounds good if it's running great and the body is clean. I only went electric with my DS because we take it to camp grounds that don't allow gas carts.

You won't find one at that price here in Texas, that's for sure

Re: 2004 Club Car DS Possible Purchase
I was hoping it was a pretty good deal as the arrangements have already been made to purchase it as of this morning.
I currently have a 92 EZGO Marathon with the 4 stroke, but the frame in it was just too bad to be a project cart. Hoping up 12 years will add a little more pep into it than the one I currently have. |

Re: 2004 Club Car DS Possible Purchase
So, I must admit I have one more reserve about buying and the building out this cart.
That concern revolves are the frame issues that some people seem to have. I originally thought they only were happening to the people that used their carts in somewhat extreme offroading. However, I have come across a few who say they just cracked on their own with normal use or even off the golf course were cracked. Would certainly hate to build something cool, then have to strip it and patch the frame back together....Decisions, Decisions..... |

It's a gamble like anything else in life.
Or you can find a welder and re weld the frame up. |

Very true...
It will be stripped to repaint partially at least anyway. Might be worth going over it with a fine tooth comb at that point and seeing if any areas need beefed up. |

I seen about 6 carts similar to that sold for $2100 each in South Georgia. $1600 is a good deal if running good.
