Cc starter gen
Where or what type-model starter gen should one get for a 1997 clockwise clubcar.... Every one I have bought or used from other carts never seem to work well. Low starting torque, no charging, even with new battery... And new voltage regulators.... I have 3 clubcars 1 clockwise and 2 older counterclockwise....same issues with all of them... allways have starter and charging issues.. Any body know how and where to Get parts that can bulletproof starting and charging the ds carts? Thanks....

Re: Cc starter gen
buy the oem starter never the cheap $125 ones from ebay THEY NEVER LAST!!!
on a used starter you need to have a smooth surface on the armature end where the 4 brushes ride. Over time a groove will develop causing problems. Simply putting new brushes in will not work as they won't make full/solid contact with the armature. Another common problem I see is arc/burn marks on the armature contacts - this will eat up brushes in a hurry and also cause poor starting. I have also found loose grounds to be a problem on repeat problem carts. The 1/2" bolt/nut on the end of the ground cable wiggles loose (directly above the starter) |
