Default Cold blooded 98 Club car carryall2

Good morning all!
I'm a new member and a new owner of a 1998 Club Car Carryall Turf 2 (with lights and hydraulic dump bed). The Kawasaki FE350 motor has 2500 hours on it and seems to run pretty good.
I know from years of playing cold weather, Ohio golf that gas carts can be cold blooded. It was 30 degrees yesterday so I took my new toy a ride around my 5 property.

I drove at almost full throttle for 5 minutes, every time I cam to a complete stop, I had to choke to get it to start? Is there anything I can do to improve this?

Thanks in advance for any responses...

Welcome to BGW Pipeman1!

Do you know if, and when the last time it was tuned up? (Air filter, spark plug, fuel filters)
a tune up usually helps, if it doesn't, you could have a dirty carburetor also.

make sure the air filter box is latched properly and hoses are not leaking any air in. you could check spark plug. mine was pure white even with new carb and tight air cleaner and good hoses. I put a larger main jet in carb ,now starts and runs great.

Wow,

Thanks so much for the responses from Lockman1 and RED 92CC Gas! I just got this car so I haven't done anything to the carb or a tune up. Id the carb worth rebuilding or would one of those aftermarket ($30) carbs worth bolting on?

Again, You guys are great for trying to help me out. Also, what's the best lift kit for this cart? I was thinking 6" would be plenty? If you agree, what size all terrain tires?

Definitely try and clean the carburetor first. I'm not sold on the idea of those $30 Chinese carburetors. We use OEM parts when it comes to something as crucial as a carburetor.

Thanks David,

I agree with you on aftermarket stuff. I flushed the tank, installed new fuel lines and added new gas and some Sea Foam fuel additive. Helped a bunch. What about changing just the main jet?
Can you tell me the best lift for my carryall Turf2? Spindle or double A arm, 3" or 6", and why? I really want this to be a useful vehicle around my property..

Thanks in advance

You don't really "need" to change the main jet unless your property is in a higher elevation! (from sea level)

A arm lifts are better for medium off-road use, though my Jake's 3" spindle lift worked well for some off-road use, and I beat on it!
I've seen some carryall 2's have a Z lift from the factory and some don't...
does yours have standard golf car tires on it? or larger then normal right now?

I agree with Lockman about the jet. As for the lift kit. A spindle lift is good, but a double A-Arm is better. It'll ride better and give you a better feel in the steering as well. The double A Arm will also give you more adjustability in the steering and alignment.

My carryall has the same stance and wheel size as a regular golf cart..
I really do appreciate all the prompt responses from this group!

Still have a cold blooded FE350. Is the carb worth rebuilding? Is there a way
to clean the carb besides adding fuel system cleaner (which I've already done)?
Is there a a deep cleaning way of getting it cleaned out?
