rear shock dilemma?
Hello all,
I just installed a Jake's 6" double a-arm lift kit and new wheels and tires on my 1998 Clubcar Carryall2. After completing, I now cannot re-install the left rear shock? The shift cable is in the way? Anyone else have this issue? How did you fix? |

I found the fix right here! (http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-c...oil-level.html) When the front of the engine was was lowered it took care of the shift cable obstructing the left rear shock... |

That's the kit I want to put on my cart. Can we see some pics of how it looks before and after the lift? What size wheels did you use? What size tires did you use as well? How difficult was the lift installation? Curious to see how it looks minus the leaf spring up front!!

The Jakes a-arm 6" lift kit worked great. Although you eliminate the single front leaf, the kit replaces it with a double leaf. What they don't tell you is that the front engine mount needs to drop 3 3/4". I'm having my fab guy make the new drop plate ($10). Also, the intake on the carb now requires a briggs and stratton (part #691368 ) intake (because the intake hose kinks without it) which I'm getting tomorrow.
I will also tell you to go ahead and plan on replacing the rear leaf spring bushings while you've got it torn apart. I also replaced the nuts and bolts at the same time... It would be great if the lift kits included (or at least advised) the lowered engine mount plate and the carb. intake mod. |

One more note, Technical support at Jake's lifts told me to just eliminate the rear anti-sway bar since they don't have a way to re-connect? I would love to get it hooked back up if anyone has done it...

Awesome! Thank you! Cart looks great! I'll replace the bushings then when i do the lift. I am running a v twin briggs motor anyways so lowering the motor will be nice for additional clearance.

I mean...wouldn't it be nice if what people advertise as "bolt on" was actually "bolt on" with good instructions...Or is that too much to ask?
