Re: Jerky take off
It depends on what you mean by "jerky"?
Does it continually jerk as your trying to get to speed? or... does it "bump" on initial engine engagement? If it's the later, It may be a possibility that the drive clutch buttons are getting worn, causing the drive clutch to stick and engage late. Note: The distance between the drive and driven clutches needs to be 9-5/8" center to center, variations from 9-5/8" may affect proper clutch engagement, torque, top speed, and belt wear! |

Re: Jerky take off
I've got the same issue... Can't figure it out. Only does it at very start. Once I'm moving, it quits.

Re: Jerky take off
Same with mine. Like clutch chatter in an automobile. Only from a standing start and especially when there's a lot of weight on board. -

Re: Jerky take off
Check to see that the secondary clutch is closing all the way, if not the primary will get a run at it and cause a jerk.

Re: Jerky take off
Shuddering from a start or going up a hill is a loose/worn drive belt.
If it's just one jerk, it's the drive clutch sticking open. You can try blowing compressed air into the gap in the clutch and get some of the dust/dirt out of it. |

Re: Jerky take off
Isn't it funny how a minuscule adjustment can make that much of a difference?
Glad it worked out for you! |
