Problems with changing leaf springs.
EDIT::: Ok panic is over, I figured it out... DUHHHH, I was raising the wrong part of the cart... Pretty simple once you remove the stupid !
thanks anyway.. OK, I just spent 2 hours loosening everything to replace the rear leaf springs.. Removed one side & have been fighting the cart ever since... I can put BOTH end in ok, but can not get the leaf spring close enough to the axle to install lower shock mount & clamps.. Ive tried to remove one end- that didnt work, I tried unbolting both ends, that didnt work.. I am missing something. Certainly there is a trick to this... Some one please assist !!! thanks.. I assume the frame is on jack stands. Yes or no?
place the floor jack under the axle housing near the brake drum and raise the cart. THis should compress the springs slightly allowing the shock to reach? Beyond this we need pictures to see what you got going on. |

Yes stands, then rmv'd stands, to remove old springs, then attached the new springs, then raised the springs to the axle to attach shock mount & u bolts... The hardest part was doing with WITH the tires on... Did not have the right wrench available to remove the wheels. The u bolts were a struggle with the tires in the way, but got it done & it rides great !

I can imagine....... it is a 15 minute job with the tires and rear body off

I have 2 cordless impacts. One makita 9.6V and a 18v li-ion makita. I use mine all the time. I hardly use air tools.

Those Mikitas are nice till you have to buy
batteries. They cost more than cart batteries and even I spend on gin in a week. |
