Default G22 Really Weird Starting issue, nvr seen before

I'm working on a 2003 G22 with a 357 engine. The cart starts everytime but not the first time you hit the gas pedal.
It acts the same exact way hot or cold and also acts the exact same way regardless of how long it sits. For example, if I put it in neutral, press the gas pedal, absolutely nothing happens. Let off and hit it again and it starts. I've done this in gear, out of gear, hot engine, cold engine.. let it sit for a minute and also did it time after time having it start up every other time the pedal is pressed.

What I've done to it so far:
I rebuilt the carb (thinking fuel was getting into the cylinder when the engine was shut down)
I replaced the battery (thinking there was not enough amperage to over power compression)
I removed the spark plug, (engine will crank everytime with no problem)
Installed new spark plug (problem is back)
I've tried it hooked up to a battery charger, problem persist up to 80amps of boost, on 110amps it does it once in awhile. (with new 650ca battery)

Spark plug came out clean, not burnt not wet
when cranked over without the spark plug in it, nothing wet comes out of the cylinder.

When I press the gas pedal and watch the belts, none of them move the first shot, let off and press it again and the engine turns over. It acts like there is too much compression to turn over the first time because when it does start, it struggles for the first revolution. Also runs great once it starts and has plenty of power from the engine as well as lights. (factory light kit)

ANY IDEAS ON HOW TO FIX THIS??
any feed back would be great, positive or negative lol

You either have a loose elect. connection or worn out brushes in the starter.

What mike said. Look at your brushes and make sure they are in good shape. If they are move onto the compression check.

thanks for responding so quickly, and ur response raises a stupid question on my part. I have never opened up a starter/generator... I know what brushes are, but what am I looking for? What would they look like if they are bad? Is this something that is rebuildable or has to be replaced as a unit?

They are very easly replaced. It is a common job. I have yet to open one up on a cart but I do know there is a line that is a wear indicator. If you don't see the line then it's time to replace them.

Just replaced a set of brushes today. Disconnect the neg. battery cable. Pull the starter from cart. Set upright in a vice with pulley down in jaws and tighten jaws lightly. Use 10mm wrench to take out end cap bolts and disconnect wire from end cap.. Tap cap to loosen and remove. The brushes are inside the end cap. Use a toothbrush and vacume to get as much of the dust out of the body (just lift it off it's base) and the base and the end cap. Don't use compressed air as the dust is nasty to breath. I use elec. moter cleaner to wipe down commutator and then use emory cloth to shine up where the brushes contact. When removing the rubber brush covers note where the one with the weep holes is located. Remove and replace one brush at a time so as to give you an orginal to copy. When you have them all replaced push them away from the center so the spring can't push them in until after you replace the end cap. Watch for the two small post that will help you allign the body to the base and the end cap the the body. Hope this helps.
