Default G-9 getting hot

When my kids load up the cart and ride for over 30 minutes it gets hot I am guessing and slows to a stop. After cools down it is fine. Is this normal or do I have issues? How long can you ride these things without letting it cool down?

The most obvious, is debree in the cooling intake tract. But could be valve adjustment or a number of other things, as well.

It should run all day without overheating, unless you race it to death, even then it should go longer than 30minutes.

I agree, check for debris in the air intake shroud first. Then check for mud and debris in the cooling fins on the engine. If it's been in the mud, you can bet it will have clogged up the cooling fins.

The mix screw is only for idle mix, unless its on the very bottom of the carb. The air intake for cooling is next to the gas tank down low. You can also take the shrouds off the engine and clean them, if the rocker cover leaked on top it will fill them with dirt/oil.

The cart can run lean if the airbox leaks or was modified. In that case you need to make the carb richer. I would read the plug. Enlarge the main jet to make it richer, I used a torch tip cleaner.

the cart has no oil leaks . So I will first try to make sure the shrouds are clean . The air box is sealed and has 4 new straps on it. New air filter, plug and carb. My son put some 50 to 1 weed eatter gas in it the othe rnight about a half gallon. But I dont think that would cause these issues
