It is a CVT, commonly used in snowmobiles forever, and some European cars even. The belt rides up/down the clutches (pulleys) to change the ratio as you drive. The weights/springs/rollers/ramps work to keep engine rpm right for the current situation. Both clutches can close in or open on the belt.

Okay, pulled the cover cleaned everything. One of those roller bearing looking thing does have a pretty flat spot. The other 2 are fine. How do I change it, where do I get it, and should I change them all any way?

Flaw, yes, change all. Cart Parts Plus, around $55. or Smallblock if he's closer. There are 2 threads just recent with the details in them. Should be in the last 2 or so pages.
