FJ400D maximum rpm’s. Ezgo rxv.
Ok so wondering about the max rpm’s of the fj400d 13.5hp kawasaki motor thats on the ezgo rxv. Max rpm’s in the book say 4000rpm limit. Is that number maximum driving rpm’s or is that in nuetral revving it up? Due to the govenor limiter in nuetral i have it revving to 3580 rpm’s but with a load driving its max rpm’s are 3210. So should i set the rpm’s in nuetral around 38/4000 and driving it be around 300 less rpm’s????? Thanx fellas.

Driving it the rear axle speed governor will limit rpm if it is set to actuate at a speed that equates to less than the rpm in neutral.

Sure. Hopefully you understood that. Don't ask how to tamper with the axle governor. I know nothing about the RXV setup.

I am also trying to figure out a maximum RPM for my FJ400d in my 2013 TXT. I overode the governor so I can wind it as far as I want. It seems pretty comfortable at 3700 to 3800. It sounds a bit stressed above 4000. I only have 17.5 inch tires and only see about 21mph.

So did you override the governor on the transmission? Or on the engine? If on the transmission how did you go about this?

Governor is in the transaxle. To go faster tighten the smaller cable with the small coil spring. 4K is the limit.
