25' & 26' tires on an electric cart?
My 2003 CC is 48 volt with a GE bad boy high speed motor. 700 Amp controller, Hd switch and 4 Gauge cables. Plan is to lift the cart 6 or 8", run 12" wheels. Cart is street use only and is registered and insured as a LSV.
Tires are the question. Id like to run a 25" or even a 26" tires on it with 12" wheels and an 8" lift. My worry is the tires will j ust have too muchr otating mass and will only be of benefit when on a downhill, not even on flat pavement but I dont know. I would imagine something like this would have to be attempted to find out, but I dunno. Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks for any expereinced replies in advance. Scott |

Re: 25' & 26' tires on an electric cart?
I did a 6" lift with 22" tires and lost some speed on hills, not much (stock 36v CC) but actually gained speed on flat ground. About 2 1/2 mph with GPS. That is with mud tires.
Not sure what 25" or 26" would do. Not much help. |

Re: 25' & 26' tires on an electric cart?
I just got done with my CC, I have 25" swamp fox (a little too aggressive for street ,but ride decent) and 12" wheels. I have a GE speed motor and s. state 500 amp controller. Mine is also an LSV, and it will run 31 mph and charge lasts approx 15 to 20 miles...couldnt be more pleased with overall performance ! Thanks again ScottyB ! Mike

Oh, almost forgot, it will still climb 8' ramps into my 8" lifted superduty. So it still has torque ! mike
