Question 88 ezgo clutch alignment

Hi guys, I recently bought a very well used 88 ezgo marathon.
Ive begun fixing it up and noticed that the drive belt is not aligned, either is the starter/gen belt. Seems as though the primary clutch is to far onto (towards the engine) the output shaft by approx 1/4" or so.
Any thoughts on why this is and how to correct it?
Not sure if it is a stock clutch or not
