How quiet is the 2015 EFI or Quietec?
Hey everyone,
I am in the process of purchasing a new cart. Lost my beloved electric 2004 CC Precedent in a garage fire last month. I am really liking what I see with the Yamaha dash and am hearing some good things with their EFI and Quietec technology. My question is, coming from electric, how quiet is the EFI motor? If I go this route I do plan on putting extra insulation under the seat and around the motor to lessen the sound, but figured you guys have more experience with these gassers than me, obviously. Am I going to regret going gas after having an electric for 10+ years? The Quietec is supposed to only be a few decibels more than an electric cart from what I understand, but its also more expensive. Is it worth going Quietec over EFI if I insulate under the EFI cart for sound? Thanks in advance for the help, I appreciate it! |

I dont think adding even more insulation is gonna do much, they've got it pretty loaded up already. And I also think you really have to go test drive one. It seems that you are quite particular about this topic, and you wont know if it's right for you until you try one.
On the other hand, just buy an electric, you already know you like those. |

I dont mind electric, but I wouldn't mind the much extended range I could get with gas, especially if they aren't much noisier than an electric. Thanks again. |

I really like my 2018 PTV Quietech cart. I've always preferred gas powered carts and it's to the point where I don't want any other cart other than the Quietech. The Yamaha engineers did their homework on this cart and it gives me reasonably quiet performance, long range, good speed and a smooth ride.

I have a 17 ptv efi, is that a quietech?
Anyhow it’s pretty quiet, some ask what battery voltage is it. Then I tell them it’s gas |

The Quietech is loudest going up hills or accelerating when the motor has to work harder. If you’re cruising at a steady speed is when it is basically as quiet as electric. I think the EZGO electric we had at a rental in FL was louder than a stock quietech at cruising speeds. Admittedly that ezgo had some issues.
