Need wheel spacers to prevent tipping?

Hello all. New to the forum.
I have a 2002 Yamaha Drive (gas) with a 6" lift and 23" tires. I've had some tipping issues even at slow speeds around turns and especially turning towards an uphill grade. The front end is very much inclined to come off the ground.

Would wheel spacers help with this issue? What size for the lift would I need? Should I do just the front or both front and back?

Yes wheel spacers will widen the track width, possibly making it less tippy.

I have to question why it's tipping? Carts just don't do that under normal circumstances. I'd be looking at the suspension and steering to see if something looks abnormal, loose, bent, disconnected, etc.

I suppose with a higher center of gravity if the weight is on the outside of the turn uphill.....I suppose it would possibly tip.

I typically use 2" wheel spacers on all of my builds, but it depends on the wheels I use. If you are using offset wheels, you might not need 2". The rear wheels will be fine, it's the front wheels you need to watch out for. Adding wheel spacers can make the front tires hit the frame and or fender during turning.

Another thing, you might want to make the front track width match the rear track width. I usually will stand in front of the cart and compare the front tires with the rear, looking to see if one sticks out farther than the other. Sometimes with a lift, the front will have a wider track. Sometimes I have to install 2" in the rear, and 1" in the front.

With the 6" lift we experienced a similar problem, installing heavy duty springs on the rear solved the problem for us.

I have installed the Jake's heavy duty rear springs, which are the easier ones to install. I have also installed the one piece style Yamaha springs that require a spring compressor to install. The Jake's website has a video on how to install theirs. here is a link that shows both types including a complete heavy duty shock assemble.
