Default madjax vs gtw rear seat kit. best option

hey all,

need some advise on which rear seat to go with.

seems that the Madjax genesis 150 rear seat is the exact smae design as the GTW rear seat.

only difference is the fold out part on the Madjax is completely made of vinyl/abs plastic and the GTW has a steel frame with the same vinyl/abs plastic for the base.

seems like the GTW would be stronger and better with the steel frame.

has anyone ever heard of the Madjax plastic breaking? seems if you stand on the back end of the fold out part the plastic would break.

gtw steel frame seems like it would hold up to more abuse as far as putting weight on the rear side of the cargo rack.

any advise or personal experience on this matter?

do you know of anyone that broke the Madjax cargo rack by putting too much weight on the back side?

any advise would be greatly appreciated.

It'd be really great to know what cart model we are even talking about.

I have done several GTW on those, and they worked just fine. Not a fan of Mad Jacked products in general.

I've only installed one of those, and not on a yamaha. So, my pool of sample data is useless.

Wonder what the Weight difference is between the two.

My steel frame
Made in China is heavy as hell.

thanks for the reply

they weigh roughly the same

only difference is with the folding out rear seat.

Madjax has a full plastic/abs rear portion including where the pivot bolt attaches that flexes when you put weight on the very rear

GTW has a metal frame for the fold out rear portion. the area that the pivot bolt attaches to is also metal and does not flex at all when you put weight on it.

just wondering if anyone has ever heard of the Madjax plastic breaking. should not be an issue with the GTW.

this youtube video has an example of the GTW with the metal subframe.

Madjax is all plastic. it does seem to be very beefy and reinforced. good thing would be never have to worry about rust.

this video has an example of the Madjax with the plastic only rear

I live in Hawaii so rust is everywhere.

I am looking for a rear seat for my gas 2013 G29 as well. I want to use it primarily as a utility box, like Plowman has on his website.

When I first got my cart, I found one that had the box built in, but now I can't find it.
Any suggestions welcome.
thanks

Yes, this is an issue. The plastic picot area on my MDJX rear seat is broken. Overall, Im not a huge fan of the quality of parts.
