Are you sure it is the correct belt? There really is no adjustment as far as tension on the drive belt. The compression seems a little low which may explain your loss of power when climbing hills. You may wanna consider a rebuild.

i thought this was the golf cart repair and trouble shooting section?
replace the belt its not that much $$. it will improve your carts performance |

oem # 14159-g01 should do the trick, thats a stock ezgo #, just search the area that your in and you will find a dealer that you can get oem parts. or give the oem # to carquest or autozone and see if they can match the #'s ?
