Default 2009 ST custom rant

Sold my 97 TXT and bought the custom, First thing I notice is no front suspension extension, Looking closer the shocks fully extend with only 1" of upward travel. While removing the shocks for longer ones I find they are the limiting factor to keep the splines on the steering shaft together, Yup I did not have the top shock nut off yet and flop I'm hit in the wrist by the rack end of the steering shaft Next was when it left me stranded at the jin mill because the voltage regulator went caput and I sliced the end of my thumb DEEP on the converter while starting it by hand on the clutch (NOT RECOMMENDED) And the terrible governer rattling when going down hill has about drove me nuts! While it does have more power it shure is not as smooth as the Robin twin. I'm looking forward to some speed improvements after the initial break in but thus far have added 2" of lift. If it was not for my dealer being such a stand up guy and mailing me a new regulator the next day I believe I would no longer own this cart and by my 97 back. So those of you with these newer carts, lengthen your shaft or make sure your shock bolts are tight or run the risk of the unspeakable. AHHH I feel better

Hello,

I just got an 07 ST and would like to extend the shocks. What did you go with? Where did you get them?

Thanks
Garrett

I believe that there are plenty of late night infomercials on concerning shaft lengthening...
