93 marathon dump
Hi everyone, been trying to make a decision on what tire size to buy for my 4 inch lifted marathon with a stock 295 robin 4 stroke. Some say 22's some say 20's or 21's. I understand the low end trade off but how bad will it be it runs really well in all situations now except I want a little more ground clearance. If anyone has had personal experience with this cart engine combo any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,Chardonite |

Re: 93 marathon dump
I had 22x10x8 on my old marathon. They seemed to work well on it. We took it trail riding and it would slow down on a hill but still pull it pretty good. Everything was stock on it also.

Re: 93 marathon dump
I had a chance to drive 2 identicle carts. 1996 txt with 295 one had 22 and the other 23s they were in hilly terrain and you could feel the smaller tired cart perform better.... but still not up to my standards so I will stick with my 20" recommendation for hills

Re: 93 marathon dump
I just put 22 on mine, and i can notice the difference. It is a slower start but once you get going you sure look good going fast...heheheh. got the before and after pics. I do have a problem in the sand for sure but i dont know, I am thinking it could be a fuel problem. anyway i will be working on that issue today or tomorrow.

Re: 93 marathon dump
Your cart looks aw-some what a transformation. When you say a problem in the sand what do you mean? Will the cart move at all or does it bog and not move? I will mostly be on flat ground but still want some hill climbing ability..
Thanks for the info... Chardonite |

Re: 93 marathon dump
it bogs down and it doesnt take a jumping start like I would like it to. It just has a slow start. I did find that the spark plugs were somewhat loose though. So that may have been part of the problem. My club car litterly spins the rear tires when I press the gas on that cart. I wish my ezgo had that problem.

No I haven't but that will be a change I will make over the winter along with freshening up the motor and some new paint.
